Standing within Shorts Bombardier’s site is the über modern George Best Belfast City Airport. This site has held a runway since 1937 and was Belfast’s first airport starting in 1938 until requisition by the Royal Navy at the beginning of World War II.
Visitors to Northern Ireland travelling through the airport are met with airy state of the art building which can be negotiated with ease even in these days of heightened security.
This included:
